I did a photoshoot today of some of my most recent costumes. The floral polonaise is not quite finished, but it's close enough. The other two are my 17th c gown, which I will be wearing at the Costume College Gala, and the Chemise a la Reine (both finished in Feb this year).

Can you do cuts in a blogspot blog? I'm used to Livejournal...

  1. It's really nice to see Restoration-era costume. All the ones you put up look great, I just never see that!

  2. Thanks! That's really what made me want to make it in the first place - because you really don't see them anywhere. I don't even think anyone makes a pattern for them, either. I mostly used the one from Jean Hunnisett's book. All of the dress diary type posts on it can be found at http://theladyrebecca.livejournal.com/tag/17th%20century%20gown

  3. Arnold and Waugh each have a bodice, possibly the same one? And I think RH has a scaled-up version based on them. Hopefully the new Seventeenth Century Women's Dress Patterns book will encourage some more Restoration-era events (although the Amazon reviews sound like it's mostly earlier in the century :/).
